How to get Jennifer Lopez's superfit legs

A great way to motivate yourself exercise-wise is to focus on a celebrity you love and make achieving their shape— or, say, their arms or abs— your goal. For me, it would be Jennifer Lopez’s sexy, muscular dancer’s legs. Yes, they’re clearly a genetic gift but J.Lo’s celebrity trainer, Tracy Anderson, also has something to do with how great the singer/dancer/mom is looking lately. We caught up with Tracy who is herself an exercise inspiration, at her gorgeous New York studio. She gave us five leg-centric, full-body exercises we can do so short-shorts season comes with no excuses.

By the Numbers: Superhero Franchises

Hollywood studios don't want to make a superhero movie. They want to make three superhero movies. Or five. While it's great to have a hit movie, it's much better to have a franchise -- a series of films that can keep generating money for years.

This summer is packed with superhero movies that are looking to launch new franchises, like "Thor," "Green Lantern" and "Captain America." And this weekend, "X-Men: First Class" will restart its series with a prequel that shows how the mutant team came together in the 1960s.

First Images of ‘Breaking Dawn’ Wedding

'Twilight' fans have received an early treat: A new clip of the wedding between Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart) has hit the Web. In the 15-second promo from Breaking Dawn: Part 1, Bella is seen from behind walking down the aisle in the middle of the forest as Edward waits at the altar under a stunning arch of flowers. Bella's wedding dress appears to be long-sleeved and fitted at the top; blue and white crystals adorn the top of her veil.

Microsoft officially unveils Windows 8

Microsoft has officially unveiled some key new features of its forthcoming operating system. The next-generation OS, which may or may not be called “Windows 8” (its “internal code-name”), delivers a completely re-imagined user interface, with a heavy emphasis on touch-based functionality that takes a hefty helping of inspiration from the Windows Phone UI.

One of the first major design changes from previous Windows versions is the completely overhauled Windows Start menu, which has been replaced with a colorful tiled design that evokes the Exposé screen of Firefox, or other similar quick-screen-navigation features found in most new web browsers. Rather than web pages, however, the new Start screen shows both static program icons and widgets, called “live tiles,” which provide constant notifications and updates. Windows 8 also allows users to access all the files on their computer in the same visualized way that programs are accessed, which helps make the OS easy to navigate with touch alone.

RARE PHOTOS: Marilyn in Training

We did not find any results for What does it take to become a star? In the fall of 1948, Marilyn Monroe had just a few roles in box office flops on her resume -- but LIFE photographer J. R. Eyerman apparently saw enough of a glimmer in the 22-year-old starlet to follow her through the showbiz training that promised to make her big. The incredible -- and seldom seen -- images in this gallery are the first a LIFE photographer ever took of Monroe, though the magazine did not publish them at the time. (In fact, she wouldn't show up in LIFE's pages until October 1949, along with seven other then-unfamiliar Hollywood "girls"). But now, in celebration of what would have been Monroe's 85th birthday (June 1, 2011), LIFE.com presents these rare gems, restored to their original glory and showing early-career Monroe in the dance, acting, and voice classes that helped make her an icon for the ages. Click here for the full collection of rare Marilyn Monroe photos from LIFE.com Here: Marilyn runs a hand through her long curls -- dyed but not yet that famous platinum hue -- in one of Eyerman's portraits.
